Thanks largely to the phenomenal success of E. L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which topped the New York Times best seller list for 37 consecutive weeks, along with two sequels which were similarly successful, 2012 was an extraordinarily profitable year for Random House.  To celebrate the company’s success, CEO Markus Dohle announced at the company Christmas party that thousands of employees — from top editors to warehouse workers — would each receive a $5000 bonus.  Random House commissioned this short celebratory video to commemorate the event.
