Making a Difference in the Oakland Mayor’s Race

11.14.2014

We were delighted when the Oakland mayoral candidate Libby Schaaf turned to us earlier this year to help her tell her story. In a field of 15 candidates running to run one of the country’s biggest cities, the dynamic and passionate city council member and Oakland native needed a way to stand out however she could. Building on her campaign tagline “Made in Oakland,” our team quickly crafted this short film, distributed via email blast, meant to give voters and opportunity to get to know Libby and her love for her native city. Schaaf ultimately emerged from the pack to claim a decisive victory in the November election. We wish mayor-elect Schaaf well as she begins her new job in January!

”In a crowded field and a critically important election for the City of Oakland, we knew that our candidate would stand out if people really got to know her.  The video that you produced for the campaign did exactly what we needed, far exceeded our expectations, and truly made a difference.  You captured Libby’s passion and humanity, delivered her message in a compelling way, and made a beautiful film to boot!  We cried when we watched it.  And most importantly, it worked!  Thank you.”  – Peggy Moore, Campaign Manager
