About Human Interest Films

At Human Interest Films, Inc., we love what we do! We passionately believe that a fun, collaborative production experience goes hand in hand with creating exceptional content for our clients. Our production teams are the best of the best, and we bring the highest level of professionalism and craftsmanship to every project. No matter what the subject is, we know that the best stories are human stories — and that the best films make us think, feel, laugh, cry and ultimately leave us transformed and inspired.

Human Interest Films, Inc. was founded by Emmy-winning producer, director, writer and production executive Mike DeWitt. Mike began his television career at PBS flagship station WNET/Thirteen in New York City. He went on to write, produce and direct dozens of television documentaries and public affairs programs for PBS, History, Discovery, Lifetime and A+E before starting Human Interest Films, Inc. in 2009. Since then, he has produced, directed and/or written hundreds of documentaries, commercials, event videos, educational videos, promos and PSA’s for Human Interest’s diverse range of clients. Mike works closely with Human Interest’s clients on all aspects of production — from strategy, messaging, scripting and production logistics through delivery of the final product. Mike has been a member of the Directors Guild of America since 2006.
